Highway: SLiM Theme 1.1

My second SLiM theme, inspired on the "Rebound of Pantheon Greeter" by spiceofdesign.

UPDATE 1.1:

> Log-in name and welcome messages are no longer in the panel.png image. You can set the Welcome Message in your slim.conf, and change the log-in name in the theme file. Editing the panel.png is no longer necessary.

-
NOTES:

> To enable direct log-in to a user (just type the password directly to log-in as in the picture) you have to edit your /etc/slim.conf with these options:

# default user, leave blank or remove this line
# for avoid pre-loading the username.
default_user $youruser

# Focus the password field on start when default_user is set
# Set to "yes" to enable this feature
focus_password yes

> To change the log-in name displayed in the panel, you have to edit in the following line in the slim.theme file, replacing it with one of your choice:

password_msg Arthur Marino

> As the avatar, you can simply overrite it in the panel.png with you favourite image editor.

> DejaVu Sans (ttf-dejavu) font is required. Arch users may get it from [extra].

I like it very much, the only thing is that is a little bit smaller than my screen (1920x1080) so it looks kind of ugly this way. I scaled the image to my screen but it loses some quality... it's not a big deal thou

it's currently my slim theme, while sadly to figure out that the background won't fill up my screen, my screen is 16:9, 1366*768,

You can replace the background.png image with another one.
The original is in 1280*800.

Two things please...

You have to edit the slim.theme file and replace the value "DejaVu Sans" with the one you want.

About conky, I suppose you want to display it above SLiM, right? If that is the question, it's not possible. :/

Yeah i wanted to have the conky over it :/
Btw, I'm running Ubuntu. So slim is better than lightdm? according to you?

If that was possible, themes could have awesome features. :/

Well, for me SLiM fits well. Since I'm the only user in my system, I don't need that many resources. I just want to see a good looking login screen and type my password. Simple as it is.

Give it a try. ;-)

Yeah I agree with you! That'll be great, I'm gonna try it soon :)
Just one more thing, I have to change the avatar by an image editor right?

Yes, I had to insert the avatar on the panel.png. As I said, SLiM is simple and it doesn't have so many features, only enough.
